Our wonderful class 5-6 have been learning all about the Prophet Aadam Alaihisalaam! In class, the children listened carefully to the story of when Aadam Alaihisalaam was created. Aadam Alaihisalaam was the first ever man created by Allah’s hands (yes, Allah has hands but not like ours). Allah created him from soil collected from all over the earth. He was sixty cubits tall and he was created on a Friday. Aadam Alaihisalaam was a Prophet of Allah.

Aadam (alaihisalaam) is the father of all of mankind. From Aadam (alaihisalaam), Allah created his wife, Hawwa, and they had lots of children.  We are all from his children’s offspring! MaashaAllah, isn’t that amazing? We are all from one family, the family of Aadam (alaihisalaam). How do we know all of this? The Qur’an and Sunnah! From the Sunnah we know this because the Prophet (may Allah’s peace be upon him) said: “Allah has created Aadam from a handful (of soil) which He had gathered from all over the earth. That is how the children of Aadam came according to the (colour and nature of the) earth. There are white among them, as well as red and black, and cross colours. There are those among them who are of bad nature and good nature, soft as well as harsh and in between.” (Ahmad 4/400,406).
