As-Salāmu ʿAlaikum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuhu,

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all creation, and may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and all his Companions. We pray this message reaches you in the best of health and Eemān.

Allāh, the Most High says:

The Mosques of Allâh shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allâh and the Last Day, perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât and fear none but Allâh. It is they who are on true guidance. At-Tawbah (9:18)

As we enter the summer break, our schools and clubs have been paused for the holidays and alḥamdulillāh, this provides us with an ideal opportunity to carry out important renovations and improvements to the Masjid before the new term begins.

Over recent months, the Masjid has taken on several projects to enhance our facilities, increase capacity and maintain essential spaces, to better accommodate our growing community. These works have so far been funded through Jumuʿah sales, generous donations and savings from other projects.

This work continues with the permission of Allāh and through the support of the community. With operating costs rising, your contributions plays a vital role to ensure the Masjid remains a place of worship, learning and benefit. Please donate generously today.

Allāh, the Most High says:

The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allâh, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allâh gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower. Al-Baqarah (2:261)

Below, you will find details of the planned works. We ask Allāh to grant us success in completing them and to reward everyone involved.

Planned Works:

Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:

“Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Jannah.”
(Bukhārī)

1️⃣ Drainage Repairs – £1,500
Recurring blockages in both brothers’ and sisters’ wudhu areas have caused repeated issues, previously costing hundreds of pounds each year. This summer, we are carrying out full repairs to resolve the problem permanently, in shā’ Allāh.

2️⃣ Main Musallāh Repairs – £1,000
Work is well-underway to repaint and refresh the prayer hall, ensuring it remains clean, safe and welcoming—especially as we prepare to welcome back over 400 children enrolled across our various schools and clubs.

Our aim is to complete these vital upgrades before the new term begins, including vital upgrades to the walls and heating.

3️⃣ Expanded Facilities

  • Upgraded shoe racks to accommodate more people especially at Jumuʿah and Tarāwīh.
  • Renovated classrooms for our evening Qur’ān school and weekend programmes.
  • Improved heating system in the men’s Musallah.
  • Other essential repairs to keep the Masjid in the best condition possible.

Challenges & Financial Needs

⚙️ Operating Costs
With energy bills, costs and supplies continuing to rise, we anticipated an annual shortfall of around £70,000 this year. Alhamdulillāh, your generous donations help us bridge this gap and keep the Masjid open and running.

🧱 Ongoing Maintenance
Urgent work is still needed for:

  • Fence repairs
  • Sound system upgrades
  • Classroom and prayer area maintenance

How You Can Help

This is an excellent opportunity to invest in Sadaqah Jāriyah.

Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:

“When a person dies, all of his deeds are cut off except for three: a continuous charity (sadaqah jāriyah), knowledge [he left behind] that is benefitted from or a righteous child who supplicates for him.” (Al-Adab al-Mufrad, no. 38, saheeh)

Help us maintain and improve this House of Allāh for generations to come. Every contribution makes a difference and we ask Allāh to accept it from you. May Allah bless you for your continued support, duʿās and generosity.

This week at Summer School 2021!

Alhamdulilah we have now come to Day 5, the final day of summer school 2021!!

It has been a tremendous & fun week for all students who have loved attending and taking part in challenges, learning new skills and meeting new friends.

Throughout the week children have leapt through new challenges such as horse riding, Rifle Shooting and Kayaking. The cooking and baking sessions taught children new, delicious and tasty recipes to increase and build their kitchen skills & confidence, as well as producing mouth-watering food.

Our Final day was concluded with a full day outdoor trip to Grip Adventure Water Park.

Students many for the first time enjoyed Kayaking and Canoeing with their peers. The children enjoyed partaking in a few races whilst out on the water which definitely had some fast winners! Later in the afternoon students enjoyed some indoor Archery and Rock climbing.

Our week was concluded back at the masjid with an assembly for the students and gifts for their superb performance this week.

It’s from the blessings of Allah that we have been able to accommodate and facilitate these activities for the children. We hope to continue these beneficial activities for the youth.

Day 4 of Summer School!

Students have all enjoyed & benefitted from adventurous activities, Scrumptious Baking and wonderful sessions they have been taking part in so far this week.

Our older students had an adventuresome afternoon of Air Rifle shooting and team building activities. A range of practical team building activities across an outdoor space. Spider web activity was a favourite today; climbing through a web of ropes with the assistance of your peers without touching the floor.

Arts and Crafts:

Students have had a joyful art & crafts session, wherein they learnt to decorate, design and make bracelets & personalised key chains.

Cooking:

Today’s cooking activity consisted of students learning and tasting how to make a family favourite, Spring rolls!! A fun way of teaching and nurturing children to learn how to cook and prepare food.

Today our younger students ages 5 – 7 have enjoyed learning to bake a Blueberry Loaf Cake! 🍰

Ages 9 – 11 visited an activity centre, Linnet Clough. They participated in the following Indoor activities; Bouldering & Caving. They all liked the team building activities helping one another to navigate through a maze and scale climbing wall. During their caving activity session they had a task to navigating around a 300ft of cave system built into a bus, a successful challenge accomplished by all the children!

Children’s Online Ramadhaan Course

Alhamdullilah Salafi Centre Online launched the kids Ramadhan course this year which ran over 3 weeks during Ramadhan.

They covered a range of different topics taught in an interactive way using exciting visual presentations, quizzes, and even a chance to work on some crafts/models at home with the family.

Students were provided a Ramadhan workbook to work through which included important topics all about Ramadhan.
Topics discussed included, how to prepare for Ramadhan, reminders & encouragement to perform good actions, virtues of Ramadhan, My Ramadhan Goals, and much more.

Workbook activities such as Word Search and Crosswords were used to help in vocabulary building and students’ reasoning skills. Puzzles were used to identify and understand important key terms used within topics covered.

Different learning styles were taken into consideration when compiling the course materials and for the delivery of lessons, for example, a step-by-step reasoning approach was taken to benefit from the sequential steps of completing a crossword which helped auditory learners. Kinaesthetic learners were able to enjoy multi-task strategies required to solve the puzzles so these activities were beneficial to all learning types.

Instructional activities were also included which children completed themselves and with the family at home.

The course was designed for the children in order to teach them about the importance of Ramadhan with the focus on making them feel productive, engaged, and excited while learning about Islam.

Take a look at the course highlights that we have posted below!
